The Rancho Santa Fe School District continues to offer many opportunities for students in grades K-8. We encourage all students to get involved, try new things, and join the hundreds of students who participate in these programs. Programs include Art, Band, Choir, Dance, Drama, Strings, and Theater.

Elementary School

All K-5 students visit the art room twice a week during their Enrichment Wheel rotation. Students learn about artists and art movements, while having the opportunity to work in a variety of mediums. As always, emphasis is put on the process rather than the end product. Our motto is “There is no wrong in Art!” At the end of the school year each student has a piece on display in the school art show.

Middle School

Students in Middle School are able to sign up for year-long Elective Classes and trimester-long Enrichment Classes. These classes are designed to provide students interested in Art the ability to explore different mediums and develop their artistic abilities.

Please contact Dana Dabney, Art Teacher, for more details.

Middle School Band Elective
Students will be able to practice their instruments and play as a group. We will prepare for scheduled concerts, competitions, and festivals, but will also be the “band for hire” for other school functions that need musical support! Never played an instrument? No problem! We will help you pick one out and before you know it, you will be a pro.

Choir at R. Roger Rowe
All students at R. Roger Rowe are encouraged to come and experience the fun of our award-winning choir.  We meet once a week before school on Tuesday mornings at 8 am.  No audition is required, and all students are welcome.  Emphasis is given on exposing young singers to a variety of choral music, learning to sing as a group, beginning harmony; and most importantly, to love singing!

For more information, or to enroll your student, contact RC Haus, [email protected].

Advanced Choir – Grades 6-8
The Advanced Choral Ensemble is a middle school elective.  It is an audition-only, advanced level vocal performing group that will learn and perform pop, jazz, and masterwork music. This group will perform at all school music concerts, but will also travel to perform at other choral festivals and events.  It’s important that you talk to Mr. Haus for an audition before you are placed in this class.  Students will learn not only perform advanced-level music, but they will learn how to read music, arrange songs, and form duets, trios, and quartets within the class.

Please contact RC Haus ([email protected]) for additional information.
