ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING FILLING OF VACANCY ON RANCHO SANTA FE SCHOOL DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD
On September 13, 2017, Board Member Marti Ritto resigned from the District’s Governing Board. The Governing Board has approved moving forward with filling the vacancy caused by Ms. Ritto’s resignation through a provisional appointment. Any individual who would like to apply for the vacancy on the Board must submit the following to the Superintendent no later than 10 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017: (1) A resume; and (2) A letter confirming they meet the requirements set forth in Education Code section 35107(a), which states: Any person, regardless of sex, who is 18 years of age or older, a citizen of the state, a resident of the school district, a registered voter, and who is not disqualified by the Constitution or laws of the state from holding a civil office, is eligible to be elected or appointed a member of a governing board of a school district without further qualifications.
The District’s Governing Board will hold a Special Board meeting on October 16, 2017 at 9 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center to interview interested candidates. Finally, the Board will hold a Special Board meeting on October 23, 2017 at 9 a.m. to approve the provisional appointment of a new Board member.
