ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING FILLING OF VACANCY ON RANCHO SANTA FE SCHOOL DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD
On September 13, 2017, Board Member Marti Ritto resigned from the District’s Governing Board. The Governing Board approved moving forward with filling the vacancy caused by Ms. Ritto’s resignation through a provisional appointment as authorized by Education Code section 5091.
The five individuals who applied for the vacancy were interviewed by the Governing Board during a Special Board meeting on October 16, 2017. The Board subsequently held a Special Board meeting on October 23, 2017 and voted unanimously to appoint Jon Yonemitsu as a Board member. Mr. Yonemitsu will serve as a Board member until the next regularly scheduled election for District’s Governing Board on November 6, 2018. The provisional appointment confers all powers and duties of a regular board member upon the appointee.
Jon Yonemitsu is a partner at the law firm Gordon & Rees and a parent of three children at R. Roger Rowe School. Mr. Yonemitsu holds a degree in finance and economics from Oregon State University and graduated from California Western School of Law.
