Literacy Excellence

We are 1 of 15 National Affiliate schools accepted as part of the prestigious Columbia University/Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Project.
Since 2006 we’ve been a part of their project mission to “support expert literacy instruction.”
The program includes:
- 2 fully credentialed Literacy Coaches (K-4, 5-8) to support on-going staff development using the latest research and materials.
- 5 fully credentialed and specialized Literacy Support teachers who provide students with a content-oriented link between literacy and learning.
- 100% of K-8 classroom teachers have been trained in the model either through institutes at Columbia University, homegrown institutes or on-site professional development conducted by Columbia staff.
Your child receives:
- Daily 1:10 ratio with fully credentialed Literacy Excellence teachers in grades K-4.
- Two dedicated Literacy Coaches 0ne for K-4 and one for 5-8 to work cooperatively with classroom teachers and students.
- One-on-one, small group and differentiated instruction as needed or for advanced students.
