RSF School Foundation

Small Class Size

The funds provided through the Education Foundation allow the school district to achieve its goal of 20 or fewer students in each class.

Our actual average class size has been 17 students per class.  Without the funds provided through the Education Foundation, our average class size would be 32.

  • Our students are getting more valuable one-on-one attention from teachers, leading to higher academic performance.
  • Students at RSF School have achieved API scores in the Top 1% for the State of California, and this continues to be a primary goal of the administration and the school board.
  • Our small class size allows us to attract and retain the highest caliber of teachers, who place great value on the ability to teach a smaller number of students.

The chart below demonstrates the impressive difference that you as parents are able to make each year through your contributions to the Education Foundation.

  • Students at the Rancho Santa Fe School enjoy class sizes and student-to-teacher ratios that are 37% and 45% lower than average California Public Schools.
  • Students at the Rancho Santa Fe School enjoy class sizes and student-to-teacher ratios that are 29% and 31% lower than the rest of the country.
  • California ranks 26th in the nation in Per Pupil Expenditures (PPE).  The funds provided through the Education Foundation effectively increase the ranking of the Rancho Santa Fe School to 16th  in PPE and allow us to achieve class sizes and student-to-teacher ratios that are even lower than states such as New York and Connecticut, which are ranked 1st and 4th, respectively.
